Why buy Andalusian fruit and vegetables?

Andalusia is the most important agricultural region in Spain, and one the biggest exporters of produce to the UK.

Generations of Andalusian farmers have perfected the art of growing fruit and vegetables, which look great and taste even better.

Eating more fruit and vegetables is something we all know we should do, and with such tasty Andalusian produce on offer, there really are no excuses.

What is it that makes Andalusian produce taste so good?

Sol y tierra. Sounds good doesn’t it? In English the words mean ‘sun and soil’ – two simple words which explain exactly why fruit and vegetables grown in Andalusia are renowned as being amongst Europe’s finest.

The region basks in an amazing 330 days of sunshine every single year. Agriculture has been important to Andalusia ever since it was first settled. Put these two facts together and it can be no surprise that the Andalusians know a thing or two about growing fruit and vegetables of the very highest quality.

What is Lola?

The Lola logo is the quality assurance mark of Hortyfruta, an organisation that represents the producers and traders in the region of Andalusia. Its role is to represent the production, farming and promotion of Andalusian fruit and vegetables, including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, courgettes, aubergines, green beans, melons and watermelons.
